By most accounts a total shithole, PJ Kilroy's is actually an underrated place to grab a brew, shoot pool or throw darts, and relax. Being a dive, it offers nothing in the way of decor, but it does carry its own simple atmosphere in a complacent, unashamed and thus likeable manner. The crowd is mostly 21-27 year old BU students who want to laugh and get buzzed. Standard beers like Bud Light are served in large plastic cups for cheap prices, and if you wait until the bouncer isn't looking you can sneak them out and enjoy them on your apartment stoop or drink them on the way to a Red Sox night game.
